Mermaid Cove (Sold)
There really is a bronze mermaid beneath the waters for divers in this lovely spot on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. I discovered this little cove by accident, and have returned many times since–I just love the polished granite and light of this place,

Little Brother
An unseasonably warm day in February. I was out in my kayak and saw these boys playing on the rocks and was so happy to snap a photograph. Very blurry and terrible quality, but enough to help me remember this moment.
Winner at the Palouse Watercolor Socius nationally juried show.

Lazy Afternoon
A sweet little bay in the afternoon sun. Shall I go out on the water or just stay here in the shade with my book?
Island Bikes (Sold)
I loved the bright light backlighting these old bikes in their shed overlooking the sea and islands.
Summer Idyll (Sold)
A peaceful little corner by the side of the lake, quietly asking for a person to linger.
Gull Talk (Sold)
This painting holds a deep feeling for me, as a small group of us had just had a very touching conversation in this spot, some very meaningful “girl talk.” Sometimes being out in nature is the best way to address life’s challenges.
Cornet Bay (Sold)
A quiet little bay inside Deception Pass Park. The light was late in the day, illuminating the boats in bright contrast with the hills and islands in the background.

Canoe Pass
This is a view of the Deception Pass bridge from a little bit unusual angle. I was in my kayak and the boat was just coming through the pass, so I grabbed my camera out of my deckbag and snapped a few photos. I love the low vantage point from a kayak, I think it gives an intimacy and immediacy with the water and surroundings.
